The Huawei SUN2000-12/15/17/20/25KTL-M5 Smart PV Controller delivers efficient three-phase solar power conversion for commercial and larger residential PV installations. Available in 12 kW, 15 kW, 17 kW, 20 kW and 25 kW models, the M5 range gives installers the flexibility to match inverter capacity to a variety of system sizes. Each model reaches a maximum efficiency of 98.4%, helping maximise the energy produced by the PV array.

Furthermore, Huawei designed the M5 range to accommodate demanding PV configurations. The controllers support a maximum input voltage of 1,100 V, a nominal MPPT operating range of 200 V to 1,000 V and two MPP trackers. Depending on the model, Huawei recommends maximum PV capacities ranging from 18 kWp to 37.5 kWp, which gives installers greater flexibility when designing different solar systems.

Safety also plays a major role in the design. The SUN2000-M5 range includes AI-powered arc-fault protection, anti-islanding protection, AC overcurrent protection, DC reverse-polarity protection and PV string fault detection. In addition, integrated Type II DC surge protection, Class II AC surge protection and PID recovery help provide further system protection during operation.

For easier monitoring and system management, the controllers include integrated WLAN and support the Huawei FusionSolar App. They also provide RS485 communication, while compatible Smart Dongles can add WLAN, Ethernet or mobile connectivity. Moreover, the range supports selected Huawei power optimizers, giving installers additional options for module-level optimisation and system design.

Finally, Huawei equips the M5 range for demanding installation environments. An IP66-rated enclosure protects the controller against dust and water ingress, while intelligent air cooling helps manage operating temperatures from -25°C to 60°C. At approximately 21 kg, the compact design also helps simplify handling and installation.
